Article Marketing Strategies

Monday, February 1st, 2010

I wrote my first article about twelve months ago and submitted it to a number of what I consider to be the main article directories. These included ezinearticles, goarticles, ideamarketers and searchwarp. Looking back I have to admit that I did not really know what I was doing, and in truth the article was not that impressive. I continued to write more articles and continued to make mistakes.

Unlike other directories who seem to accept any old article, ezinearticles check what you are submitting. I am now spending a lot more time when I write the articles and feel that they have gradually improved, this has been confirmed by Wally himself I am pleased to report.

So do I personally think that article marketing is beneficial? I have had e-mails from all around the world from people who have enjoyed reading my articles, maybe I am a bit sad but this gives me a little buzz. Some of these people have included the article in their blog or on their website, thus creating an additional backward link to my website/s. They have helped my web promotion tips and DVD authoring websites to rise up the rankings and has also helped to promote the stuttering therapy service that I offer. I managed to stop stammering a few years ago and as a career I now help other people to achieve fluency.

The people who read the article are potential visitors to your site, a visitor you would not have had, had you not written the article. That visitor could of course turn into a client or purchaser of your product/s.

For me search engines are going down the path of seeing one-way backward links as by far the most powerful form of link.It can be far from easy to obtain these essential one-way backward links and this is where the real benefit of writing articles comes to the fore as it has the power to help you to gain an unlimited amount of links.

What’s so Great about Expensive Backlinks Anyhow?

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

Times have changed. There was a time when the only way you could get effective backlinks was by hiring an expert SEO firm. That is no longer the only way. Today you can get effective backlinks (and lots of them) very easily. You would think this might be a slap for the big SEO firms and Linkbuilding services, but they still have fees of 4 figures per month and remarkably people are still paying them.

Once you see what’s available to you for cheaper yet still effective services, you’ll never think of hiring a firm to handle your search engine optimization for you ever again. Now, pay attention, here is the beginning of WHY you don’t need to hire an expensive linkbuilding service or SEO firm. It is true that some of these techniques might need outsourcing or your manual operations but just look and see.

The two most important factors for ranking well in the search engines are off-page and on-page optimization (what else is there, really?). Since the Internet is always changing, the search engines are also constantly changing their algorithms and formulas for ranking sites well because it is in the best business interest to do so. As they keep changing the rules you need to stay abreast of these rules in order to stay competitively ranked and while the top SEO firms are well aware of these changes, you can stay on top of what works by getting involved in your rankings efforts personally or hiring in-house company staff to do it for your company.

Latent Semantic Indexing and Silo Site Structure Design. These two things are making on-page optimization increasingly important. Doing these two things is simply solid SEO. It means you’ll need fewer backlinks for better rankings. Latent Semantic Indexing, or LSI is a means your sites will rank well if your site content uses the terms most often, or usually connected with your topic. Silo site structures design means organizing your sites so the human visitors and readers are rewarded with easy navigation. Employing these 2 tactics is just plain solid SEO and practicing it means you’ll need fewer backlinks to get those rankings up.

You can use a low-cost link building service to generate backlinks from relevant sites and the number of backlinks you get can be in the thousands to help you with off-page optimization. There are a lot of these types of services out there now and they build backlinks for you effectively at a far lower cost. The only problem here is the size of their network limits your potential and they get “tapped out” after a while. So to keep getting results you need to get a new service aver 6 months. When you put what you saved into hiring writers and a site designer, you will begin to see your Return on Investment (ROI) start looking good a lot sooner.

If you’re a sole proprietor of an Internet business or looking to expand your company’s offline presence onto the web, you need to see a fast return on your investment. The best way to do that is to keep your fingers “in the pie” so to speak. Staying involved and having a lot of control over what your search engine optimization efforts are will have the two-fold benefit of teaching you what really works and this is a skill that all companies should build up in order to stay competitive in their industries, and essential for sole proprietors to see income being produced from their search engine optimization efforts.

There are linkbuilding services out there that can develop backlinks at far less cost that the high-end services that are servicing clients right now. A look around at some fine reviews on backlinking services will show you many affordable alternatives. For example, Linkvana is well worth its membership fee for the backlinks they build for your company. You must be inventive in the economic climate today in order to stay competitive and fiscally solvent.

Long gone are the days when it was OK to pour money into SEO firms to “expand the brand” for companies and businesses. Nowadays, companies are utilizing their employees in many different ways. Getting your employees involved with web exposure is a great way to do more with the same amount of employees. You can be sure many of them already spend a lot of time surfing the web during the day. Find out who the good writers are and get them to submit informative articles about your niche to Unique Article Wizard.

Mare The Most of Your Article Marketing

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

Article marketing is one of the most popular ways to enhance your seo efforts. With the introduction of article submission tools, the task of distributing your articles across the Internet is easier than ever before. There are a number of rules you should follow if you want to get the most from your article marketing.

In this article, I will give you some article writing and submission guidelines that I’ve personally used to enhance the overall impact of my submissions and guarantee that articles are placed on web pages with a high Google page rank.

The advantage of article marketing is that your article content has a life well beyond a single listing. Website owners visit article aggregation websites to find relevant content for their website, blog, or ezine. Your article can be published for quite some time after it’s submitted and posted. The real value of article submission is when third party sites provide a link back to your website in exchange for the content you have provided them.

Make Sure Your Article Is More Than 500 Words. Too often I see articles that are just a few words short of the minimum required. Many article submission web sites have a length requirement of 500 words or more. I like to exceed the minimum threshold by at least 35 words so that sites that do not count prepositions still measure more than the minimum.

Write Your Article Around A Keyword Phrase. When you write an article about a particular subject, select a keyword phrase that helps to promote your website or service. The result is that search engines will be able to find your content easily based on the specific keywords noted.

Use Your Keyword Phrase Throughout. When writing an article about a particular topic, choose a keyword phrase that helps to promote your website, product or service. Doing so allows search engines to easily find and classify your content related to specific keywords.

Create A Compelling Headline. By developing a catchy headline, readers are drawn into your article and take notice. Even though your primary purpose is content distribution and building links to your website, don’t lose sight of promoting your content in a valuable way. Article submission works best when your headline requires individuals to take notice. This leads to greater awareness and action among webmasters seeking content.

Automate Your Process With Article Submission Software. There have been a significant number of advancements in article marketing during the last two years. It’s easy to find a number of article submission tools that can automate or semi-automate the submission process. Although nothing can truly replace developing your own article content, article submission can be automated with the help of article marketing software and technology.

The use of article marketing is paramount to improving your online search engine rankings. Now that online tools and software have been developed to enhance the effectiveness of your article marketing, significant time should be spent finding the right tool for you. This eliminates the need for wasting significant time writing and or submitting articles to the right directories and getting the results you’re looking for.

Using article marketing is simply a great way to improve your websites ranking. With the help of distributed content and links back to your website, search engines like Yahoo! take notice and assign your website a good amount of value. This comes back to you in higher rankings and Google PR.

Article marketing is an important part of everyone’s SEO strategy. What’s most important is that you develop content for a specific niche or area and teach something to those who read it. Individuals wish to learn and improve upon their work. By providing something of value, your content will be shared and distributed throughout the web.

Article Marketing For Improving Your Website Rankings

Monday, July 13th, 2009

Article marketing has gained a great deal momentum over the last two years. This is due to the fact that many websites, not to mention website rankings, are driven by quality content. As web site owners have learned more about search engine optimization and the value of quality content, they have gravitated towards article marketing.

Even if you are late to the game, article marketing can work for you. For those who haven’t started, I suggest you jump in. Article marketing is still one of the best ways to promote your website. No one needs to be concerned that many are using article marketing as a way to promote their website or blog. In fact, article marketing works regardless of who uses it or how many people author new content.

The reason that article marketing is effective is because you provide search engines and websites with quality content that references your website. In essence, you are producing keyword focused content that can drive browsers to your site or blog. If the article is created properly, you include links back to your website which serve as a powerful way to boost search engine rankings.

When you distribute your article to article websites or blogs your article content your content gets additional exposure. Over time, a Google PR is assigned to the page that your article is on, and if you have links to your website, the page rank is transferred resulting in a boost to your search engine rankings.

A common mistake that is made all too often is when individuals forget to include a link back to their website or worse yet place their link in the wrong way. The best way to develop in bound links is by using keyword rich links. This means your, usually within the about the author section, is displayed with your keyword not the usual world wide web designation.

If not sure about the best method to produce a keyword rich link, search Google for a tutorial or simply the html code you need to produce a link in the right way. There are many websites that can provide instructions for creating links that display your keywords in the link text. This is essential if you are going to get the full value of article marketing.

Once you have written your articles and included properly formatted links, you can submit them to article directories. Make sure that the sites you are submitting to have a high Google PR and are popular. I used to think that the benefit of article directories was the fact that many web site owners frequent these sites for content. But the real value is the Google PR that the site provides and passes your website through your links.

Many of these online article sites do not distribute content at all. In fact, the percentage of individuals copying content and pasting it on their site correctly is fairly limited. That said, if you focus on the top sites you derive most of your value from getting your articles posted on their website.

Develop articles in your area of specialty and include links to your website. These links can be placed in the author box or included in the article. Your keywords must be placed in the text of the link. Test your links to make sure they work properly. After you have validated that links are working properly, distribute your articles at will.
