Search Engine Marketing for More Traffic and Sales

Monday, November 30th, 2009

If you are looking for targeted traffic, you should definitely turn to search engines to get them. Your website should be found by the search engines before they can provide you traffic from targeted visitors. Learn more about search engine companies through google secret loophole review materials.

Search engines, especially Google are very important to online businesses as they give life to it by providing traffic. To make sure you get the full advantage of what search engines offer, you should make sure they search engines see your website in the first place. These search engine companies use software known as spiders or search bots. These spiders are software programs that search and index your websites. Read the following guidelines below to make sure your websites are indexed by the search bots.

You should know that search engines do not understand everything in your website. So, if your website is purely made up of images and animations, you might as well put it down because search engines will not understand your website. To better understand what the search engines see, view the source code of your website. Search engine spiders will not see anything if you see a blank page in your source code. It would be better if you have more text than graphics simply because spiders understand it.

Your target keywords should always be in your website. Your target visitors will find your website through keywords so your website should also have those keywords. Your website’s title should contain the primary keywords that you are targeting. The website title tells both the search engine spiders and the visitors what the page is about. Spread your keywords throughout your site to tell the spiders that your website is indeed about that keyword. You could be penalized by the search engines if a keyword is repeated too many times within a page.

You can get all the benefits of getting more search engine traffic if your website becomes visible to search engines and if your website is indexed. Take advantage of what the search engines are offering.

BREAKING NEWS: Attention all Wordpress Bloggers

About me

Until recently I tested Internet Marketing software and methods and published the results on a number of blogs. On average I personally answer around six hundred questions about Internet Marketing through my blog every week. I have a single purpose to help folks who are really stuck, must make a living and have turned to the web to do it.

From my work I see that probably fifty percent of the Internet marketing community are genuine people but the problem is many of them are not very adept at what they do and teach. Up until now I have been presenting my findings on a small collection of blogs and sites whose owners have asked me to contribute content about my experiences to their sites.

Over Six hundred reviews

This represents just over six hundred ‘products’ that I have tested over a timescale of nearly five years, obviously a number of them are obsolete and I will only be including ‘products’ that are still available. All of the products I review on my blog have been or are currently being used by me.

Easy to use and organised directory

To help you make the decisions that will work best for you I am going to organise the product summaries into a simple and easy to use framework and every product will be classified by the level of  skill required, cost, effort and how soon you can expect to see results.

First Review - The ‘blueprint’ for Wordpress blog success

I am going to kick off with Wordpress Blogs and what methods and tools you can use to monetize them. Everyone should have a blog and I am passionate about blogging as a large portion of my income comes from blogs but and however I am conscious that setting up a blog can be not straightforward so if you join my list I will walk you through step by step how to do this.

Create once and replicate

The amazing thing about blogs is once you ’get’ how they really can work and make money you simply replicate the blog mechanics over and over again to multiply your income stream. I have a basic rule of ‘getting a rope across the river’ before commencing on any significant amount of work so I always commence with constructing a prototype that I evolve into a blueprint that I can test, refine and replicate, to do this you have to really understand what methods and tools you need to use.

No bullshit, just answers.

So if you have a Wordpress blog or you want some practical and personal guidance with your choice of Internet Marketing products then please do join my list at www.backlinksclinic.com.

See you there

About Web Hosting And Unlimited Bandwidth

Sunday, August 23rd, 2009

For web site hosts the most important thing to know about is bandwidth. The quantity of data which can be sent at one time is called “bandwidth”.

The less bandwidth you have, the longer your visitors will be forced to wait for your site to load no matter what type of connection they use. With more visitors, each visitor is going to have to wait his or her turn if you don’t have enough bandwidth to accommodate everyone. When selecting a host plan you must first discern how much bandwidth you need.

Be cautious if the company offers you unlimited bandwidth or monthly transfer. It is not true if they tell you they have unlimited bandwidth. Unlimited Bandwidth doesn’t exist.

I have not seen the option of unlimited megabytes per second. There are various web hosting companies which don’t have access lines of its own but even then promises clients that unlimited bandwidth can be provided, how is it possible?

Most of the time, high bandwidth sites on these unlimited plans will be disconnected, and no refund given. Normally, the web hosting company will say that the site violated its acceptable use policy or terms of service.

Whenever you visit a site promoting unlimited bandwidth as one of the account features, be sure to visit the Acceptable Use Policy, or the Terms of Service. Read the fine text about the so called Unlimited disclaimer.

If you look first for web hosting services (those who state clearly bandwidth offered), you must attempt your best estimate and carefully monitor your usage for the first few months. When estimating, remember these factors. How many users will access your web site? How many pages to be access? How big are the graphic and HTML files?

More bandwidth will be needed when you download large multimedia, computer programs, and files. One bandwidth concern is using Flash on your website, as it consumes a lot of it. Virtual reality, as well as full length 3D presentations, will require a greater bandwidth than other things.

Though it is not accurate, but still gives you something to work with until your site has been online for a while and actual traffic statistics have been generated. Don’t fall for the unlimited bandwidth trap that some companies throw at you.

The Internet And Its Effects On The High Street

Friday, August 21st, 2009

The search engine optimization industry has to be on its proverbial toes literally 24/7. This is because the search engines algorithms are constantly being changed and updated in order to give their searchers the best results they can.

There are two basic views that people share on the way search engine optimizers are adjusting their web sites to get in the way of qualified traffic, and they are that it is a fair way of manipulating search results, and second is simply that it is an unfair way of manipulating results.

In truth, if SEO didn’t exist to adjust websites so that they’re readable by the search engines, then the search engine results you would get a lot less organised and all over the place really. Search engine optimizers are necessary to ensure that the most qualified websites rise to the top. 9 out of 10 web designers don’t know how to make a website rank well in search engine results. They tend to miss all the key on-page criteria that SEs look for and so a well built, all-singing all-dancing expensive website will most of the time be doomed to float around among the masses of other websites that will never be found, or to sit in a pay-per-click listing for the rest of its life.

I see so many clients who are sold expensive websites as the answer to their dreams, when it truth they are nothing of the kind. I see so many clients who wish they had spent thousands less on the design so that they could spend it on SEO instead.

What use is a website that no one can find? Even in these difficult times, as footfall starts to dwindle and profits disappear, the more forward thinking site owners are looking to improve their market share. Either by the addition of new keywords or by starting an SEO campaign in the first place, buyers still exist, shoppers are shopping, just in smaller numbers and more cautiously. The question is, are you going to take a larger share of the market and survive or are you going to become a failure statistic?

The more traditional retail methods are suffering and online sales went up by 25% from Christmas 2007 to Christmas 2008. The companies that are making money are those that are embracing the new technologies and moving forward with everything around them. Others that found their form a few years back and will stick to it come hell or high water will be the ones that fail in this technological era if they don’t develop their services to fulfil the needs of the modern day customer.

Unfortunate though it is, but the Internet will destroy the high streets and eventually the majority of physical retail locations. Bricks and clicks companies are increasingly seeing their shops treated as a dressing room in preparation for an online buy later on. In a way, we the people are almost shooting ourselves in the foot because when the shops go, online shopping will be the only method left, which is nowhere near the same experience.

SEO will be driven by retailers needing to save money and increase footfall to both their bricks and clicks shops. It will be an interesting year in which I think we will see some more household names join, Woolworths, MFI, etc on the scrapheap. The big question is……. will you do enough to protect your market share in 2009?

A Hard-Hitting SEO Strategy is Critical For Your Online Success

Friday, August 14th, 2009

Since the introduction of the web in the late 90’s, it’s growth has been explosive with an impressive 25% of all people on the planet using it. Worldwide, Internet usage seems to have grown roughly 340% since the beginning of the millennium.

A fascinating 1.6 billion people all over the world use the Internet - in search for information and educational purpose. Since over $133 billion was spent online in America alone in 2008, it’s safe to say that many of these web surfers are looking for information in order to make a purchasing decision. In 2008 alone, more revenue was generated through online spending than larger international companies like IBM and Bank of America make!

Want your share of that $133 billion dollar pie? Then your small business needs to find ways to drive online traffic to your website on a daily basis. Think you can make that happen with traditional pay-per-click (PPC) ad campaigns? Think again. Many PPC advertisers find that sales dont keep up with PPC costs, so they wind up shutting down the campaigns in frustration, and often their websites right along with them.

Small businesses that want to maximize their web presence realize that Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a much better resource over pay-per-click advertising. They might now know that SEO better be more than just keyword research and metatag improvements. SEO should focus on getting the maximum exposure possible from many different Internet resources.

Usually a reputable SEO firm can identify these “outside” resources, and the goal is obviously to promote exposure and brand recognition for your website using a combination of the following:

Optimizing each page on your site. Many people don’t realize that websites don’t rank as a whole - each individual page actually ranks by itself in the search engines. Since you can leverage more than one page and not just the “home” page, incoming traffic can be increased significantly in the search engines.

Building back-links on other sites. When people come to your website through a link that is strategically placed on another site, this is called a bank-link. Back-links serve two purposes - they obviously bring in more traffic to your site directly from other websites, but they also allow your domain to rank higher in the search engine results. A good, ethical SEO firm will work diligently to provide bank-links, often through content, on other relevant websites.

Competition Analysis: A thorough understanding of keywords used by your competition is essential to uncovering hidden opportunities to drive traffic your way.

Social Media Services. Leveraging the explosion in online social media services such as Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, etc. will allow you to further expand the reach of your business and brand recognition.

Monthly Reporting. Comprehensive and timely reports are crucial to a good SEO campaign - without them you have no idea how far your site has come along!

Effective SEO companies should provide you with these tools that will further promote your business online and allow you to gain maximum exposure and awareness. Competition for sales is hard enough when times are good - and when the economy is shrinking, selecting an effective and economical SEO firm is an extremely important decision.

Retail sales have declined in the double-digits since last year - ecommerce has only experienced a 5% decline in the first quarter of 2009.

In today’s turbulent economy, such a modest decline puts the ecommerce world ahead of most businesses. And with a properly managed SEO strategy, your small business could very well avoid participating in the current recession altogether.
